I finally received my babies in the mail this morning! I am a first time chicken mom, and I was so concerned there would issues with their travel. Fortunately, all seem happy and healthy!
I did notice this one little baby has a slightly crooked toe. She is getting around great and is probably one of the most active chicks in the bunch. Is this something to be concerned about as she grows?

I don't see why that would be a problem, If it grows more crooked as it grows i am not sure what to do then, but as for now if she is eating and drinking fine I dont see any reason you should worry about it. By the way, cute chick :)

Thank you so much! I wanted to check with anyone more experienced just in case. I’m still clueless, and I want to make sure my babies are happy and comfortable :)

Your chick has curly toes. It'll probably worsen, and will be permanent if you don't do anything about it. It can be genetic, due to a vitamin deficiency, temp fluctuations during incubation, etc. It is very easy to make a little mini splint for the toe and foot and leave the splint on for 2-3 days, and it'll straighten itself out. If you choose not to split it, the chick should live a normal life, but have curly toes. I have a barred rock hen that had curly toes on both feet. I splinted both feet but she kept getting the splint off during the day on just one of her feet, so one foot is now straight, and the other foot is permanently curl. You should also give them some poultry vitamins in their water for a few days.

You can read more about it here: https://the-chicken-chick.com/spraddle-leg-in-baby-chicks-what-is-it/

I also attached a picture of my barred rock, in the picture her right foot is normal, the left is curly. Obviously this was a fluffy butt picture, I wasn't targeting her feet so not the best view, but you can still see the toes.

Thank you!! I will try to make a splint for her. Hopefully it corrects the issue, but I’m glad to know she will be ok if not.

The added fluffy butt picture made my day even better!

I believe I cut out little “shoes” from a cereal box and then taped them on with vet wrap. This was two years ago at this point
