One of my chicks was beat up by one of the other ones. Her (Oreo) eye has puss in it and some of her feathers by her face are missing. She is eating and drinking she seems fine but is there something I can put on her eye to get rid of the puss?

Wash with human eyewash, then cover the eye with Terramycin eye ointment you can get at most feed stores. Do this twice a day. It should clear up in a couple of days.

Here are pics of my baby girl Oreo's eye. Any advice????

I put neosporin (sp) on her eye today and all of the puss is now gone. She had her eye open on and off today after the puss was gone..

Poor baby. Did you see her get pecked? Between this post and another where the whole rear end was ripped off a hen, I am learning just how viscous chickens can be. I guess I take my sweeties for granted.

I am so glad her eye is doing better! You can add some vitamins (especially A) to help her eye heal up.

Good luck!

Maybe not as good as a poultice but it does have some antiseptic qualities and is gentle around the eye. I think they are great for in a pinch and can't run out to the store right away. They will also help stop a tooth from bleeding. My one daughter faints at the sight of blood and this came in really handy when she was loosing her teeth. LOL

The supply store we go to is not open on Sunday's, that is why I used the neosporin, but it helped. I never saw her get pecked but Buffy who I think is the one who did it to Oreo had some blood on her, so I assumed it was her. Now it is like nothing ever happened they are all hanging out together friends again.. Her eye is looking better.....YEAH!!! Thanks for the advice...
