UPDATE:
So we put her under mama very late last night. Now this morning the new baby is having a hard time keeping up with the others (still getting her footing) and mama is pecking at her really hard. She picked her 4 times during the 10 minutes I was watching. Is this okay? Is she telling her to get under her or something or is she rejecting her?

The eggs under my broody hen are staggered with all different hatch times. The oldest hatched over a week ago with two more to follow, so mama hen thought her clutch was done and got up and left her nest. So I intervened and put the other 8 eggs in an incubator.

One just hatched! Yay! I want to take it out and let it be a family with mama hen and the other 3 chicks. Will they accept it? Do I wait until it has dried in the incubator to take it or take it ASAP?

IMHO I would let the chick dry and wait to see if there will be others to come. Just bringing it to mama hen may but most likely will not work as she thinks she's done and will not recognize the chick. Best bet is to wait till after dark and sneak the new chick under momma's wing with the others while she's sleeping and hope that by morning the new arrival becomes one of the herd. Good luck! Let us know :fl
