A couple weeks ago I put 18 eggs in an incubator after I realized the mom was pecking them to death 1 by 1 as they were hatching. Anyway I have had some struggles although I have hatched 10 beautiful babies so far. I had an egg roll on it's own in the incubator last night and pip at about 11 pm. It is still only a little more cracked and I can see a brownish green kind of gooey crust but the baby still seems to be moving. The beak is moving but no peeping and I see lots of fluid in egg.
Does anybody know what this is or what I should do?

It could be that the chick is stuck and after beginning the hatching process (ingesting yolk, pipping, ect.) that since it didn't make it out in a normal time period it could have defecated inside of the shell. I have seen this many times with chicks that didn't make it out of the shell.

I just saw your reply thehackleguy. I never saw there was a response until tonight. That chick did not make it but I have had several more hatch well since then : ) Thank you and I appreciate your response.
