It's about 3 weeks old. This morning when I checked on the chicks, the one had her butt exposed, and there was some poop stuck to it. I got it off, and noticed that it was a little hard. Chick seemed fine after that. Later on I think I saw her do a runny one that was the usual reddish brown color. Then tonight, she strained a little, and the same amount that I saw stuck on her this morning came out and stuck again. This time, she was able to get it off herself, but I could tell that her butt was not comfortable. She's on chick starter, and gets to eat sand as well since the chicks are always catching bugs to eat.

I have applesauce, but how much do I give her? Do I need to wash her butt? If so, do I soak it in warm water?

Put some olive or veg oil around her vent to keep the poop from sticking. I have also seen posts about putting apple cider vinegar in the water, but I am not sure of the amount. I had one get pasty butt and just wash the poop off when it gets stuck and apply the oil. It will pass, just give it time. Hope this helps!!
