I have Welsummer and Astrolops and they are five days old. They have started pecking at each others feet and now several have very bloody feet with ends of toes missing. I tried painting the bloody spots with tincture of violet medication but that hasn't helped. any suggestions

How big of a brooder do you have for them? What are the temps like? Sounds like boredom and they have found a taste for blood. Do you know the one who's doing the picking?

You'll have to remove the ones with the bloody red soars or try to cover them up. I'm having a terrible keeping one of my chicks toe covered with a bandaid but it's the only thing I've found to keep her and the others from pecking at it.
