I posted the other day that one of my EE chicks was "hiccuping". I thought at first that she was choking but she wasn't. She is an otherwise normal chick. Perhaps not 100% strength like her sisters, but OK. Well, the hiccuping is now accompanied by a peep. Anyone have any ideas as to what this may be? She is eating a drinking normally. Their box is in the sunroom next to my bedroom and I hear her peep every 2-3 seconds. It's got to be tiresome.

I would take her on my lap and give her a couple of drops of olive oil and massage her neck and crop very gently with one finger or knuckle. I think your concern is valid- she could hiccough material from the esophasus up and into the lungs. I'm wondering if she might have a malformed crop, esophagus or if it's underdeveloped for her age compared to the others. Maybe she'll catch up. It's also possible that something she ingested is in her crop and the olive oil might help it pass. I sure hope some experienced owners have some experience with this, especially any EE owners.

That's good news! She must have been a wee bit plugged up in there...
