I just picked up some beautiful silkie chicks this weekend (8 weeks old). All seem healthy & happy, however one of the chicks holds it's head similar to a flamingo - it's beak is always tucked right up to it's neck. She walks around and holds her head up but it is still "folded" and when she sleeps she curls her head right around so she's practically sleeping on her head.
Like I said - she gets around - I haven't noticed if she's been eating or drinking as I check them early in the morning and then later in the evening when I get home from work - I guess tomorrow I'll wait around to see if she's actually eating/drinking - as in order to drink she'd have to pick her head up.
But has anyone had a chick do this before? - I thought maybe she pulled a muscle or something when the people caught her to put her in the box? but that was saturday.
