I have a 2 month standard cochin that started making a different noise 2 weeks ago. It came on suddenly and has not gone away or lessened at all. It sounds like the chick is whistling/squeaking every time it breathes out. At first I was wondering if it's voice was just changing, but then 2 days later I started hearing some sneezing and coughing every once and a while. The chick doesn't act as if anything is wrong, eating and drinking well. There is no drainage or discharge from the nose or eyes. I have looked in the throat and do not see any obstructions. I have checked and treated for gape worm, just in case. I have also tried treating for an upper respiratory infection by misting with oxine. None of the other chicks make the same sound. this chick even makes the noise when it is asleep. I can go outside in the middle of the night and here this whistling noise from across the yard. This is my first time with chickens so I am looking for some experienced opinions. Is this just a normal noise that I have over reacted to, or is there something I should be doing for it. I have a video posted on youtube so you can hear the sound.
