chick making strange sound

One of my 8 week old polish chicks is making a strange sound. It's not loud but a steady high pitched squeal, it lasts for about 2-3 seconds at a time. Kind of sounds like a hawk as it's calling in flight but not loud at all.
She doesn't seem stressed or anything els wrong with her. She's been out free ranging with the rest of the flock today and they're all back in the run now. She seems active with no issues either.
Just curious if this is normal chicken sounds that she is just starting now, I don't hear it from any others.

How old is she?
It could just be a boy... learning how to crow.
Are you sure it’s a girl? Are the comb and wattles redder more/faster changing color than the rest of the babies?

She's 8 weeks, the lowest ranking chick so far. She looks like the quintessential polish pullet with her perfectly shaped crest. Her mannerisms say nothing towards cockerel.

Well it turns out the shrill noise wasn't coming from the cute little silver laced polish pullet but rather it was coming from a golden laced polish named 'Chief Crazy Feather'. We knew he was a cockerel along with another Golden named 'Mohawk', this just confirms it.

All the neighboring roosters are laughing at him, a real blow to his macho roosterness...My wife couldn't stop laughing at him either but she loves the little guy so as long as they're well behaved, to an extent at least, they'll have a home here.

And their crowing annoyed everybody, but I really miss it. I had two (at different times) but had to get rid of them when they started getting mean...
