I think my first hatched chick is too hot in the bator. Temp is 101, and he is occasionally panting. He is not dried yet. What do I do? One egg has yet to pip, but the chick inside is alive.

I noticed that in my last hatch, that the chicks were all panting in the hatcher. They all did fine, though.

Leave him & wait on the other egg to hatch. He should be fine. If you can lower the temp a degree and a half easily, then do so.

The chick should not need water.

it's alot of working pecking yourself out of that shell
