5 day old silkie with 6 other silkies same hatch has begun pecking its own foot obsessively to the point it is bleeding now.
I tried making a shoe to protect it but she just gets it off n goes right back to it.
I tried making a sling but she climbs out unless I hold her.
I've put buprocin on it several times.
Any idea as to what is going on with her?
Looks like she make be missing a feather on that side?

I don’t know why she’s trying to peck it, but the only way I can see protecting it is with a wrap. You can try using vetwrap- if you haven’t..

I tried n she gets it off or pecked above it at her leg so was afraid she was gonna make that bleed too.
Try doing it again- a little tighter (not too tight, though) and you might try going higher up on her leg. She has to learn not to or she’s going to cripple herself.

She's a determined lil booger! Peckin me n everything in between napping.
You can try a little sand/dirt box for them to dustbathe, or a little roost for them to jump on (could just be a raised platform, my chicks always love jumping) to distract her.
