Chick pipped away from air cell concern

At 4pm yesterday we saw the first pip away from air cell now we can hear the chick it is 8am and no progress!!

Only thing is we have 5 other eggs at hatching stage.So do not want to open incubator.

It sounds fine. It hasn't even been 24 hours. If you can hear it, it has air and can breathe. Leave it alone for now.

Positive thoughts; First, you get to laugh because I cannot remember when to use a colon vs: semicolon.
A chick can actually turn around, and hatch correctly. It can also hatch successfully from the wrong end.
On the negative side, it might perish even with help. Sit on your hands, and resist helping.
