I have 4 4week old chicks. When do they change to the next type of feed:

baby chicks how long on their feed

growing pullets - what and how long

then laying hens - what

thank you for your help.

I just use a starter/grower combination feed til point of lay, then layer.

If you have starter feed, the bag probably tells you when to switch to grower.

From hatch - 8 weeks old I give chick starter
8 weeks - 18 weeks I give chick grower
Then I give them layer pellets.
Hope this helps.

So what do you do if one or two of your eight start laying, and you don't know which? How would I even know which eggs belong to which chicken?

My actual question is, what do I do with the Grower Feed? Do I keep using it; mix it with Layer Feed? If only two of the girls are laying, how do I keep the pullets on Grower?
