I was on YouTube and I saw a video "How it's made HATCHERY CHICKS". For anyone that has seen it, the video says day old chicks can be sexed looking at their wing's tips.

Is this true for all breeds? Does it work?
Any information on this would be great! If the technique turns out to be true.....That means I have 3 hens that hatched!!! Plus, we won't be fooled at those feed-stores when the workers say "I don't know what they are."

I think you can use that technique for certain breeds, but not all.Maybe someone will know. I don't usually worry much about what sex they are until they are half-grown. It's not like I'm going to drown the boys at hatch,so what's the use?

Well, if you buy your chicks from the feed store, it would help to know the males from the females so you only buy the females, that way you won't end up with a roo your trying to find a home for a few months later. Especially if you aren't allowed to have a roo where you live.
