chick shipping boxes???

i am planing on selling and shipping a few chicks next spring... and i was looking at all of the options for chick shipping boxes... some have pads that come with them some dont are they worth the extra money??? or can u just use a few wood shavings??? also what brand to get??? do you have a plus or negitive on any certon brand of box that u have experiance with??? maby some one ordered to many last year and would sell them to me ???

I've seen some citrus boxes cleaned out and used. Filled with hay and of course the many breathing holes. Plus some ductape to hold the top down.

I have never shipped chicks, but the straw pads are ideal since they might eat the shavings or the shavings might spread so that they get spraddle leg when they are on the slippery cardboard, IMO.

As far as the USPS goes, they have certain criteria the box has to meet. Your best bet is just start with usps approved boxes.
