hi, does anyone have any suggestion? chick is 14 days. i thought i noticed something day 2 but wasn't sure... definite balding along sides of neck and shoulder blade. no one has been pecking at it and it's not pecking itself. is it mites? none of the other chicks have it (so far). i have taken him away from the others. i'd like to put something on it before it gets really red. please help 
i'm a first timer with chickens and don't know where to start. they are in wood shavings so these white specks could be dust. they are on medicated starter.
should i powder the chick with diatomaceous earth? should i mix diatomaceous earth in the shavings?
