So I have a late hatcher, day 25, and she has pipped a decent little hole, however, its been over a day and a half and nothing has progressed. I bumped up the humidity, wrapped the egg in a wet cloth, and picked away some of the shell to give her more space. It looks like the membrane might have dried out. What are your thoughts on this?

I have this happened with a few of mine...is the chick still making any movement? I have taken almost all of the shell away and used a wet cotton bud to ease the remaining membrane away...all of mine have lived despite the intervention...hope all goes well for you and the chick.

Sorry i forgot to update this post. So I wrapped a wet paper towel around the egg and made the opening bigger. I chiped the shell all the way around and pulled the membrane away from the chick. Once i did this she managed to get free. Im leaving her in incubator to gain strength and then will put her with the 10 other chicks I have.
