Chick troubles

I need some help/advice here. I've noticed this red bump on my white polish chick, and I investigated to find that it is a bump, with no feathers. I felt another one of my polish chicks, and saw that it also had this bump in the exact same place, but his is covered with feathers, and looks great. Does anybody know why feathers wouldn't grow on this spot on this chick? My dad said that it might be from being rubbed around during shipping. Thoughts?

It could be from other chicks pecking at the vent area. Try to give the chicks this kind of product, I know they sell it at TSC (Tractor Supply Co) in the chicken section. All you do is put it in the water and it stops cannibalism. Read the instructions on there. Hope this helps.
