Chick waste in nesting boxes

Upon cleaning out the coop, I found poop in the nesting boxes. Should I remove the nesting boxes until closer to laying age? I thought that I remembered reading that this was a bad habit to get into.

They are about 7 weeks old now.

It's common practice to keep the nesting boxes blocked off (or not have them there at all, depending how your coop is set up) til they reach laying age, for that exact reason
