Hatched on Saturday with HUGE buggy eyes. Eyes are half covered with lid, just a slit open. Walks great, drinks when I show her where water is. Eats when she can find it.

I thought maybe they were very dry, inhibiting her opening her lids, so I put a bit of eyedrops on them last night. No improvement today.

Her hatchmate died last night, so she is alone.

Any advice? I am thinking no way will she survive if she can't find food/water. I am leaning towards culling her. What do you think?

If she's eating and drinking, then give her a couple more days. If the eyes still aren't open, than I would go see a vet and see what they say.....

I once had a chick hatched out with the same problem. I used some antibacterial eyedrops and she healed up great. It took about a week, and I applied twice every day. There was some mucus like discharge at first but now it is fine. I was using human eyedrops, however I don't really know the dosage or anything. My father's a doctor...go figure
