I posted this on a new post, but maybe it should have been posted here where it will be seen quicker. I just had a chick hatch with the normal yellow slime, but on the back was a large blob of red tissue/blood. Since it hatched about an hour ago, the blob has shrunk - as if the water drained out of it, and now it looks mostly like a deflated red tissue sack connected by a strand to the chicks bottom. The chick still is moving around, but sleepy. Other chicks keep stepping on the blob and I wonder if it will pull off and bleed, or if it will dry more and just fall off? Does anybody know what it looks like, and if I should be concerned? Thanks! Only the 2nd batch of chicks hatched out so I'm still new at this.
