Chick with feed in eyes

I had a 3-day old chick that fell over into the watering dish and got wet. It promptly flipped over into the feed and was coated with food. It got tiny particles of food in it's eye. I've washed it off and used a water dropper to drip water into the eye to help flush it. It won't open it's eyes now. What can I do now?

I would use saline rather than plain water and give it another flush. Then if it still seems like the eye is irritated, use some ophthalmic ointment.
