Chick with mass at vent

Can someone tell me what to do about this, it does not look like pasty butt to me but this is my first experience with chicks

That looks like a prolapse to me. Not good, especially before egg laying.

Yes, it is a prolapsed vent. Keep it clean, then put honey on it to help the swelling go down. Try to push it back in and hold it. Has the chick been constipated. That can cause straining and a prolapse. If it has been constipated try giving some coconut oil or olive oil orally a drop at a time up to 1 ml.

@Eggcessive , thanks for agreeing with my assessment, not sure the future of the possibility of egg laying for this poulet.

It is just a chick, so perhaps treating for constipation, it may grow to one day lay eggs.

It is a prolapse. Maybe think of separating it from others because they might peck it.

I’m feeding them medicated chick starter and the brooder temp is 90
