Chick with mobility issues- injury or defect?

So an update on Tazetta. Unfortunately it looks like I’m going to have to cull her. I can’t stand the thought of her suffering. In some regards she’s made progress, but there have been some major setbacks, too. I’m not sure it’s fair at this point to keep pushing her.

She’s been falling over and chirping more- unable to stand herself up. I’ve found her stuck on her side a few times away from the brooder. I don’t know if the chirping is because something hurts or she’s cold, but it’s not happy chirps. She's unable scratch in the shavings. She can’t preen without falling over. She has some paralysis or weakness in the right side of her body that’s affecting her leg and her wing. It just can’t seem to keep up with the left side which has grown stronger.

I’m updating this post in case anyone comes across a similar situation. Also as a means of procrastination. I hate culling. But I think the only thing worse would be to let this little chick live a life of pain or leave her to freeze to death on the brooder floor next to the brooder plate. 😢
