Chick with no eyes

Hello! I’m not really sure if this is the current place to post this, but I thought I’d share what I found in one of my eggs.

I was opening a dried out egg that had pipped, but didn’t survive, and was shocked to see the chick had no eyes!! There was no eyelid slit, or socket. He was fully developed in every other way, and was trying hatch! It was cool to see, and made me wonder if anyone had seen something like this before?

I did see some other posts that had similar situations but they were quite old.

From what I understand no eyes comes from to high of temps during early development. I know its shocking to open an egg and see something like that. Hope you had a good hatch besides that one.
