Hi all! I have a 2-3 week old baby (breed unknown) who seems to be filling out a bit oddly. One wing seems to be filling out nicely, while the other is a bit ruffled-the feathers don't lay right. They seem to be growing in "piece-y" if that makes sense... refer to pictures. Is this normal? Will they even out eventually? Or do I have a cool hair style on my hands? Thanks in advance :)

Any breed guesses as well??

No guess re: breed. I can't visualize comb. Straight, pea or rose???? Her wing feathering is odd. Looks like the R wing is feathering faster, and with much larger feathers. Any skeletal changes from one side to the other?

No skeletal abnormalities that are that obvious to a newbie such as myself. The wing it's self seems like it's fully formed, but the feathers are another story. Attached is a better picture of the comb. The chick also seems to have a slight feathering on the legs if that helps at all..

Wow, I had no idea about "split wing" thanks for the info! It appears it is missing some of its wing feathers, so this may be the diagnosis.
The bird was purchased at a local farm- I purchased a frizzle, silkie, Easter egger and the last I did not ask what it was (which happens to be this bird)-just my luck!

It may well be a second EE. They do come in every color of the chicken world. It has the leg tint and what could be a pea comb.

That would be great as I've always loved that breed! These babies were purchased for pets and eggs, not breeding. Does a "split wing" cast any concerns besides unwanted breeding traits?
