I just had a chick hatch. Paint feathering, lighter skin. But here is the thing. One leg is black (or very dark blue) and the other pink. Dad is an Ayam Cemani, mom is a leghorn x game mix

Definitely interesting, and I'll be looking forward to pictures as the chick grows.

I don't really know what to think at this time. It could be a paint that just happens to have different leg colors due to where and how the spots are arranged. Or it could be a chimera. Hopefully the answer will become clear as it grows.

I think the idea that it’s random spotting from the paint coloration is probably correct. If you look closely at the legs, the black one has a pink area on one toe. And the pink leg has a black area higher up in the joint area.
I noticed that too, so I'm waiting to see how it develops as it grows. At this point, I could still see that or chimera as a reasonable explanation.

You have to post pictures when it’s all grown up! I wonder if the colors will stay. My Jersey Giant chicks had black & pink legs as babies which turned the normal grey when they grew up.
