Hi! We are new to chickens. We have 7 chicks. The BR is quite a bit smaller than the others that we got at the same time, she is about 2 1/2 weeks old. She seems to be eating and drinking. She seems to like being held and always comes over and sits with me. My issue is that she doesn't seem to be growing and I think she is lethargic. She spends, I think, more time sitting/sleeping than the others. Her poo has been a little runny, but now she has just "gone" and it was runny and clear with some white mixed in. I am concerned she is sick or may needs medicated feed? I could use any ideas/help you may have.
I am feeding them Start & Grow along with a "home-made mixture" from Greener-Pasture. I have it mixed about 3 parts Start & Grow to 1 part of the mix. They have free access to the food. I have been using water with ACV. The substrate is newspaper with clover and other greens from our lawn (no fertilizer or pesticides). I change it once a day if they spend most of the day outside or twice a day if they are in. I have given them hard boiled egg and meal worms, both "fresh" and freeze dried for treats. The brooder is 80 degrees in the warmest part. Outside they were in a small portable garden greenhouse with access to shade, sun, food and water as well as grit and dust.
Hope to hear from you soon. THANKS!!!
