Chick with wry neck

Quote:
Trust me I know a coupld of others.

When my neighbor's bird have the problem it took me a couple of days to find the Poly Visol without the iron added. After the first dose she was better and after the third she was fine. She's a pretty bird. I saw her a couple of weeks ago. The lady said she had 3 or more that did the same thing and she just gave them the drops and it cleared right up.

I've seen so many posts about wry neck and so many suggestions for helping with it and this was always what worked. When I suggested it to my neighbor I had no idea if it would work, but it did and fast.

Hope you see the results as fast as we did.

one of my silkies i got in the mail had this problem (chicks), I just kept him separate helped him eat at least two times a day, usually when i first got up, then right before i left, then in the evening when i got home and again before i went to bed. He was a happy little chicken, got worse before he got better but eventually he would keep his head up longer and longer and finally he was fine.
now the same guy lost a fight with his siblings and i may have to cull him, so sad.
but if i had a chick with the wiry neck again, i would still give him a chance.

Maybe you shouldn't wait to give the poly-visol without iron vitamins. The other vitamins in the regular chick food, what have you, aren't the same. And I wouldn't expect immediate results - my chick took about two days of feeding every few hours before she turned the corner. And I, too, was a complete novice to chickens and was very grateful that someone posted what they thought the problem was and the solution. It may all seem foreign right now but if you just hang in there and administer the vitamin e and poly-visol without iron you will likely succeed.

I started her on the poly visol last night and I gave her some this morning as well. HOpefully I will see results in a couple of days. Just wondering how much should i give her? Once a day or twice a day and how many drops each time? Also, should I continue giving her vitamin e as well? I will keep a posting on her progress! I am hoping she pulls out of it and I can take some pics of my girls and post them. Thanks everyone for so much encouragement.

poly visol = magic chicken potion....she is already trying to stand, hold her head upright and walk forward. I took her outside for a bit of fresh air and she was even trying to peck at the ground a bit when she was holding herself up. She would get really excited that she was doing it though and start spinning her head around in circles! I hope to see even more improvement in the next couple of days.

I too have a chick with wry neck. She is a week old now. Have given vit e and selenium. Will add the poly Visio as soon as I can find it. Also..should I give the flock boiled egg?
