Harriet LOVES grass! That's why I picked a few pounds for the winter and have it stored in my freezer. SPOILED CHICKENS!

krcote, great idea...I'll try saving grass in the freezer too! Any tips you can pass on with:clap 'keeping grass' in the freezer?

chicksalot, i hand picked (i know i'm nuts) grass because it gets mushed when mowed! Then i diveded it into small snack sized portions (daily ration!) put it it snack ziplocks, pressed under a cookie sheet to get all of the air out then put them all in a big bag in the chest freezer. i also got a huge pumpkin on sale and divided it into 1/8 sized pieces, wrapped in plastic and threw in the freezer too. i picked up a bunch of the apples from the tree in my yard that they love and froze them whole to give over the winter too! and lastly, i did snack sized baggies of venison scraps to thaw for them every couple of weeks. i just feel like they should get the same treats all year! hope this helps!

sunbury chick, your roo has even bigger waddles than mine! and that comb! i had no idea BIGGER was even POSSIBLE!
