I have a 4 year old Barred Rock that is acting totally normal. Her energy is the same, she jumps on her perches, and runs over to me but she's not eating. No nasal discharge or symptoms of any other illness except not eating. She didn't start to lay this Spring and isn't currently laying. For about two weeks I could get her to eat a little oatmeal, yogurt, mash, worms or greens. Not all at once and not very much at any given time. Certainly not enough for her to gain any weight. Yesterday she ate nothing. Today spinach only. Even then she goes at it with gusto, but drops it on the ground and only eats a little. I've given her electrolytes. She was wormed 3 months ago.

I have no idea what's wrong, but she's not eating and losing weight. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks!

Thanks for the links.

Her crop feels empty. I can really feel her breast bone from her lack of weight. Her poo is completely white. All she'd consume today is electrolyte water.

For the scramled egg post; no, you can try raw egg yolk. If she eats that then you could try powderizing some of the chicken food and mixing it with the yolk. With that at least she gets food and water. I have no clue why she would stop eating; hope you find out what's wrong!

I'm willing to try just about anything. Thanks for the suggestions. I'm actually taking her to an avian vet this afternoon. Doubt anything will happen, but she seems to want to eat so badly, it's worth a shot, too.
