Chicken ate a plastic zip tie

The chickens ate up the styrofoam balls. Chickens are quite resilient. But I do ask, why my rooster suddenly died?? Wasn't what he ate!

This was an actual zip tie, the kind you would secure a fence with?
That is not going to pass. You will have to massage it out, or you might need your vet to surgically remove it, if she doesn't regurgitate it.

I once lost a feeding tube down the throat of a baby pigeon - I was able to work it back out pretty easily.

I was putting zipties on the legs of my 3 week old chicks (for identification) and one of them snatched up a small piece and swallowed it before I could get it away from them. It was maybe 3mm long.
Was the chicken from this post ok?

Chickens are curious, especially when they are hungry. My flock ate an entire block of styrofoam and all that happened was, they pooped out plastic Easter eggs!
