As I was coming home from school I saw my 6 month old golden retriever standing over my Wyandotte. I know she was just trying to play but I was pissed. I thought the chicken was dead and was taking a picture when suddenly, after the dog had left, it got up and walked away. It was as if the chicken was playing dead. Fast forward to tonight, I locked the coop up, and the chicken was not there. I figured okay its probably dead. I figured I would give it one more check before I went to bed. It was sitting outside of the chicken coop just as I had guessed. She seemed really calm and not in too much pain. I thought maybe it was just some feathers missing but it is a lot worse than that. I'm not sure of the full extent of her injuries. For now I have her in the coop in a dog carrier so that the other chickens don't peck her to death. Here is a picture of her injury. I guess my question is, is she worth saving or, do I end the suffering?
