Hi my hen has been staying away from the rest of the flock. When we let them roam in our backyard run and feed them she tends to not eat the kale or mealworms unless I feed her. She isolates herself towards me or away from them, when they are inside together she stays off to the side and doesn’t go near them because they would either chase her or peck at her. This started around 2 months ago when she hurt her foot and we had to move her inside to take care of her. Is there something wrong or am I overthinking it.

Welcome To BYC

Check to see that her crop is emptying overnight and for lice/mites.

She may have lost her place in the pecking order if she was removed from the flock for treatment. Going forward, it's usually best if at all possible, to treat a bird while they stay with their flock to avoid stress and isolation. Sometimes it's necessary to move them for their own protection though.

Do re-check her foot to make sure it's healed well and not still a problem.

If the crop is not emptying, then address that symptom.
