Hi all, this is a video I filmed of a noise that my chicken makes. It’s been so hard to capture.
Could you please watch the video & tell me why my chicken is making this noise & what sickness it is?

Some chickens just do that, or make other very strange noises for no particular reason.

She doesn't act like she's got something stuck in her throat/windpipe, but if you think it's actually something possibly wrong, you could give her/them some vitamin water every other day for a few days, just for a boost in case she/they could be fighting off something.

Keep an eye on her for a few days to be sure she's not getting a runny nose, sneezing, swollen eyes, distressed breathing, etc.

I’ve been concerned because my 7 month old Ancona started making this noise and also developed a really blue tinged comb. One morning we found her hunched up with both her eyes shut and we thought she was going to die. The vet couldn’t tell us what it was without doing swab testing but she was making that exact noise. now it seems that this little one has picked up the mystery illness and is also making the same noise. We live in Australia and bird flu is on the rise. They don’t have any other major symptoms other than mild rales.
Ancona still has a really blue tinged comb and I don’t know if it’s because it’s so cold here or if it’s because of this illness.

The sound I hear is a snick or sneeze. Chickens can do that occasionally from something irritating their nostrils and it is normal, but if it happens every few minutes all day long, it could be a sign of a respiratory disease. Infectious bronchitis is one that causes that. If more symptoms occur, such as foamy or swollen eye, head shaking and mucus from the beak, it could be a sign of other diseases, such as MG, coryza, or others.

I’ll have to look into those diseases. The Ancona just had rales.. no foamy eyes.
