Hello! We received our first batch of chicks ever yesterday morning and the hatchery included a free exotic chick. Unfortuately, this little sweetie dubbed 'Cutie Patootie' by my 6yr old, has something 'odd' going on with his little rear end. (We are guessing it is a he, no real clue, but since we ordered all females he is hoping we somehow got a rooster.) Anyhow, his little rear end seems to look puckered up. Yesterday it was red and other chicks were pecking at it as soon as I took him out of the box. C.P. was slowish to get going, but once he had some water and feed he started defending himself and backing up to the wall so the others would leave him alone. I watched for quite a while and gently shooed any peckers. He was pooping, so I don't think anything was blocked. Today it is not red, but still poking out a bit. I have never had chicks before. He seems fine otherwise - eating, drinking, pooping, running around, sleeping, lets me touch him, reacts to sounds, seems curious....I had trouble getting a picture as he was zipping around the brooder. Is this something I should worry about. (Ok, I am obviously worried. But should I be DOING something?!)
Thank you!!!

Thank you!!!
