So yesterday morning I walk into my coop to find my 6 month old oliver eggar limping and unable to use her right leg. I took her to the vet thinking it was a fracture or break but the vet didn’t find anything. They suggested it was either an egg block or some disease affecting her neurologically. She’s separated from the rest of the flock and i’m keeping her in a small dog kennel in my house. She’s pooping normally and eating and drinking normally. Was wondering if anyone else has had any similar issues

Welcome To BYC

I'm sorry the vet visit was unsuccessful.

If she may be having difficulties with an egg, you can give her 300mg Calcium Citrate+D3 now, then once daily for a week to see if she expels and egg.

Something neurological can be a number of things from Marek's to...

Give her vitamin therapy of 400IU Vitamin E along with 1/4 tablet B-Complex daily for several weeks. A treat of egg will help with the uptake of E.

Does she have any swelling of the joint? Have you tried lightly wrapping the foot and leg to offer support to see if that helps stabilize her a bit more?
