Hello!

I was just wondering if I could get some advice please....

I have 2 chickens who have a small coop 160cm length, 75cm wide and a little run attached to it. When I am home I let them out in the garden but this is proving problematic as they poop absolutely everywhere and also wreck the garden. I end up doubling my cleaning as I have to clean the garden as well as the coop.

I am wondering whether to get an bigger coop (say, 8ft) and they can stay in that all the time? Or maybe go out in the garden for an hour a day or something for a run round? What does everyone else do??

Would it be cruel for them to be in an 8ft coop all day everyday (I would move it round the grass so their not in the same area) when they are so used to having the whole garden?

Muchas gracias for your help

2 chickens can live comfortably in a coop that is 4'x8'. That would actually hold 3 chickens if the set up is right. Moving it around would be a "chicken tractor". Look in the coops section at the top for ideas and info.
