Chicken coop and storage shed progress

My DH and I are sharing a shed which allows him storage and workspace for his projects and a chicken coop for me. We were able to prepare the base last fall, but waited until spring to pour the concrete and lay block for this 16X24' project. The two sides are mirror images of each other divided by a wall which will not allow for air to transfer between the two sides. You can see the course of block separating his from hers in the pictures.

I plan on having two pens inside - one for the boys and one for the girls, at least for the time being. Eventually we'll settle on two breeds and keep them in either pen. The two runs will be off the front and back sides of the building.

I just ran out and got pictures of the doors and windows.

Insulation is about half done.

The pop door will be centered under this window and will lead out to the front run.

My neighbors have confessed to suffering from "shed envy." We, on the other hand, are digging deeper in the wallet than we expected. I figure if we sell our eggs for, say, $100/dozen we should break even in about 10 years.

Here is the inside. We'll be moving these meaties outside to a tracktor this weekend.

And here is our new flock. They're 10 weeks old now. We need to teach them how to roost and build them a ramp to get them up there.

The new project will be the chicken yard. It just never ends, does it.
