Hi, I have 4 chickens.
1, oreo I origanally had and she is a 2 year old baredd rock
i got 3 more hens at 16 weeks old.
one got bit by a fox, so we are making a whole new set up while we did that they all staying in large cardboard boxes.
the fox bitten one by itself
oreo by herself
and the other two together
we build some of the coop and decided to put the “two others ones” inside since it was getting messy inside the cardboard box for two.
now, oreo was here first so ovi she will do the pecking order.
if I take the other new two out of the new coop and add them in all together excluding the injured one.
would the pecking order have no existent since no one was at that coop first?
sorry if the thread is everywhere, it’s 2am and I need answers by tommow lol

No there would still be a pecking order and I do not suggest putting the bitten one with the others. A lot of the time the others will peck at the wound causing it to get infected which can kill her

I suggest you put the bitten one in a dog crate with a blanket over her, food and water and put the other two back in the coop (after you fix it so they don’t get bitten). I do not have any info on what to put on the wound but you can post another thread asking what to put on it. I hope this helps
