chicken coops

Hi.
I am new to the chicken world so I do not have too much advice.
We were given and old chicken coop that we will gradually fix up.
Here is what we have done so far.

While researching coops, I did check on craigs list and there are some times old coops for free or old sheds for free.
The tricky part though is moving them.

Have you looked through the pics of coops on this site? I saw some use old playhouses as coops. I have seen playhouses on craigslist too.

Good luck.

what I have so far is a 6 ft tall 5 foo wide and 7 foot long run with three 1 inch thick coop boxes which I think might work but not sure what do you think ?

Have you looked up at the top of the page at coops. There are all sizes, shapes, and lots of them have how to instructions. Cattle and hog panels can make easy hoop coops.

If you are in an area with a large Craigslist base I'd suggest searching on there for playhouse, a used small shed, a used coop, or materials like free pallets and building supplies. As the previous poster said if you check out the coop gallery you'll be amazed with what nice looking coops people have made out of these!

thank you for the advice i looked at them. and here is a picture or two of what i have already built mind you that they spend alot of time in the back yard free ranging it. oh and since these pics where taken i added another coop to it. oh and the boxes that are on the left are actualy 3 inches off the ground even tho it looks like they are sitting right on the ground
