Hello,

My name is Kinorah and I used to think owning chickens sounded gross and unappealing.

In Feb, us born and bread city folk decided to buy a 6 acre hobby farm and move 5hrs north! We wanted a change of pace and lifestyle and in April, that's exactly what my husband and 13yr old daughter got. Our 20yr old daughter and 2 yr old grandson stayed behind

Weeks after moving in, we decided to jump in and get some chickens. The idea of fresh and free eggs sounded great (although we've spent so much on our chickens' coop etc they're not really free lol).

We started with 2 almost 1 yr olds that a lady sold us and I fell in love. They were so sweet and funny and quirky. We never knew they could have such personalities. Even my husband has come to care about them. They "helped" us plant our first garden and would sit on our laps and eat out of our hands. My daughter and I quickly knew we had to have more so we convinced the same lady to sell us 2 more so now we had 4 red sexlinks. They each had a name and we could tell them apart easily. They were family.

My addiction grew so we built a chicken palace and I bought 10 more chickens, this time only a few months old and just starting to lay eggs. We've starting to recognize and name a few and they are learning to trust us and get excited to see us. I'm excited to meet others and to share chicken knowledge and chicken addiction
