Hello All. My name is Mitch and I own Healthy Futures Organic Feed Supply in Ortonville, Michigan. (Don't worry, I'm not here to try and sell anything. :duc Just expand my knowledge.). I currently have 21 chickens in my main group of layers. Three of them are Silkies and one is a bantam, so they're not really layers, just cool chickens my wife and I enjoy. The others are a real variety pack. I like having a variety of chickens, not only for their different personalities, but laying characteristics. ie. some are better winter layers, etc. I also had 25 Cornish Crosses, but as of this morning, 23. I'm new to the meat chickens, but just like getting fresh eggs everyday, I think it will be a rewarding experience.

I look forward to talking to new people and sharing my experience along with learning from others.

Mitch

Hello from another Michigander (Michigoose, Michihen?)!

You said you aren't here to sell anything, but I am curious what you will/do sell. I'm in the greater Grand Rapids area, so not close. There are a lot of other Michigan posters here too.

I admit, I had to Google Ortonville, as I had never heard of it, but I'm originally from Eastport, and few people know of it either. :)

This is one of the best places to learn about chickens. If you have a question, someone will know the answer. Welcome!
