Chicken crazy in Texas

Hey y'all,
So happy to join others who "get" our new found love! Gifted hubby 3 New Hampshire red chicks for his birthday in April and we are hooked. Have since added what I hope are two Easter egger pullets (sold to me as ameracaunas, but am now wiser) and are planning to sell our half acre this summer in pursuit of more land and homesteading (and lots more chickens). When I'm not playing with the chickens, I'm a homeschooling mom of 6 (two grown and another flying the coop this fall). Looking forward to getting to know y'all.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided join our flock. Which part of Texas are you from? My wife and I were both raised in the great state of Texas. We home-schooled our children as well, and now our daughter is following in our footsteps with our granddaughter (pictured in my avatar). Raising chickens is a wonderful experience for children. My sister and brother-in-law used to live in the San Antonio area and we have visited the Natural Bridge Caverns in the New Braunfels area on a couple of occasions. They are quite beautiful.
