Chicken door?

I was just thinking that my poor girls are going to be cooped up (ha) for most of our winter, since the rain and wind can get pretty bad. Has anyone had any luck with a doggy door style door for their chickens? I would put it on the side closest to the house, where there's a bit of an over hang. Our coop is a converted shed, so has regular tall shed doors.

Haven’t tried that but how about building them a tunnel? Just put a top and sides out far enough to form an entryway that keeps the rain out.
