Last night I noticed one of my hens was droning on her inhale and exhale. I would have missed it entirely thinking it was just normal chicken noises but it was too regular. It wasn't as bad when she was resting, gets worse when she's moving a lot. She seems to be fine otherwise but I think the noise might be stressing her and the other chickens out...none of the others seem to want to hang with her. I've taken a video since it's hard to describe the noise she's making. It's at
She's eating and pooping. Haven't seen her drink. Could it be something stuck in her crop? Or throat? Wouldn't that make her stop eating? How would I determine that? This a wild supposition but you'll see in the vid that she's missing some back feathers since she's one of the roosters favorites...could he have punctured a lung??? I just don't know what to make of it. She's a year old Auracana.
Thanks for any help,
Céleste
