this morning I killed a tiny mouse in the house and was going to toss it over the fence, but I dropped it outside.A few seconds later my alpha hen, Maude, came by and took off with it trailing the other hens behind her.I could have sworn I hear that " Benny Hill" Music playing while she ran around the yard in a greedy sort of teasing way.Moments later down the hatch.

mmmm...protien.

But, where there is one mouse, there are many. Time to make sure the feed is secure.

Well, chickens are omnivores, after all.

I once found a rat with no skin in my coop. It was all flexible and weird. Gross!

I found a mouse in my shed once and set a trap for it. When I got its body out of the trap I threw it to my hens thinking they would eat it but noooo. They're a bunch of spoiled princesses - they looked at the mouse then back up at me like, "Ok, what do you expect us to do with this?"

I had a mouse in the feed can once. Put a cat in to catch the mouse, cat caught the mouse and then the hens chased the poor cat around the coop and took the mouse away from her! It was quite a sight to behold.

In our house the cats corner, harass and catch the mice, then my little RJ, a shiztu steals it from them. The funny part is that RJ is a little guy, smaller than my bestest mouser and he still gets the mouse. My pom just kills them, no cat and mouse game for him. My hens meanwhile have killed mice in their run, but then just leave them there for me to find.

My chickens saw a mouse.. the little guy was scurrying through the run. A hen spotted him. It was a chase a first sight. One hen got the mouse. Then all the other hens were jealous. So, they all went after her. In 5 min. there was no mouse.

Well I have 3 indoor cats. They should take care of any other vermin. Our oeg hen got and killed a baby copperhead the other day.I had to chase her to cut the head off for her.Im sure it wouldnt have hurt her,but heads are overrated,I trapped her in the run and cut the head off with a shovel,Then she proceeded to eat it in one ghastly*gulp! then no more. They take care of their yard really good.
