chicken eye swellen

"my hens eye was swellen. and sealed shut. I irrigated it with saline and the lide opened. A jelly substance was over the eye ball. after she blinked a few times it fell out and her eye was not swellen and she opened and shut it fine and started to walking around. before this my girls found her hiding away from everyone. What is it and what should I do?

Maybe she had something in her eye. Just keep close watch on it to see if it happens again.

I think she may have. I cleaned it out again and put some ointment on it. seems to be looking better! Thanks
