I was given a jersey giant rooster a few months ago and noticed one of his eyes was a little odd looking, but it still didn't look too bad. It has no progressed to where the iris is turning black, while the other eye is normal. The pupil seems to be a little mishaped too. There is some yellowing around the iris, but not much, and the bottom lid seems to be a little droopy, but no more than when I got him. I don't think it's mereks, but what else could it be?

Can you post a picture?
Here's a pic of both eyes for comparison!

Do you know how old he is?
Has he been injured?
I'm not sure what it could be. I've read that sometimes ocular mareks doesn't have other symptoms.
I hope someone will be along to help you. @casportpony is very good with diagnostics.

I'm not sure honestly. I got him from a woman who got him from a farm 4 hours away from us. I don't think he's any more than 3 years old, and he seemed to be a bit beat up when I got him, but he's been fine except for that eye ever since I got him. I know there was at least one other rooster in the flock with him before I got him

I’ve had this happen to one of my pullets who had gotten attacked by a falcon. She had gotten head trauma from whatever had happened to her. In about a week in a dark area with food and water, she recovered fully without an issue.
